The Silky Skirts

The Silky Skirts is a performance partner dance originating in The Mahogany Mine. The rules of the form are applied by choreographers to produce individual dances which can be performed. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Rhythmic Sweetnesses. The dancers perform in a circle. The partners maintain open contact, communicating intent by pushing together briefly. This dance is a refined artform, with one specific move to be mastered.

• The dance begins with the passage of the music. The dancers perform to the lisig rhythm. This expressive section is punctuated by sprightly curved walks and strong clockwise half turns.
• The tarmid the fundamental dance move. There is a large counterclockwise eighth turn from the lead with a vivacious facial expression from the lead and a sensual left leg lift.
