The Sweetness of Lathering is a war dance originating in The Inky Growths. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Song of Music. The dancers perform loosely mingled, moving slower and slower to the music's mafina rhythm. The entire dance has a basic movement called the mamo. There is a series of five steps in a circular pattern with a serene raised left arm, relaxed independent body movement and a fluid leftward bend. The dance is punctuated by jerking counterclockwise quarter turns and sensual spins.
