The dancers perform in a single line, moving slowly with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with four special positions and three specific moves to be mastered. The dance is lively and graceful.
- The dance begins with the theme of the music. This section is punctuated by large moves and movement performed in succession by group members.
- The dance enters a new section with the variations on the theme of the music. This section is punctuated by fluid clockwise half turns.
- The daze is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a proud hand gesture shadowed by group members with a raised arm, a vivacious facial expression and a right leg lift.
- The laka is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a sprightly raised right arm.
- The mintut is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an elaborate left leg lift with a high body level, a sinuous raised arm and a high leftward bend performed in retrograde by group members.
- The age is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an aggressive facial expression.
- The udda is one of the fundamental dance moves. There is a leap.
- The ilan is one of the fundamental dance moves. First, there is a refined spin performed in retrograde by group members. Then there is a curved walk with a high raised right arm, independent body movement performed in succession by group members and a vivacious hand gesture mirrored by group members. Finally, there is a refined spin with a high body level.
