The Couple of Meandering
The Couple of Meandering is a sacred solo dance originally devised by the human Thefin Tourplaited. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Pregnant Saffron as the dancer acts out any composition of The Lens of Brains. The dancer performs very quickly with the music. This dance is a refined artform, with five special positions to be mastered. The aggressive sinuous dance is punctuated by spirited leftward bends, body level changes and grotesque independent body movement.
- The dance begins with the theme of the music. This section is punctuated by grotesque facial expressions.
- The dance enters a new section with the bridge-passage of the music. This strong section is punctuated by right leg lifts and spins.
- The dance enters a new section with the variations on the theme of the music. This section is vigorous.
- The cebela is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level with a lively raised right arm, a passionate rightward bend and a grotesque left leg lift.
- The adi is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a right leg lift with a low body level and a forward bend.
- The aro is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a fluid hand gesture with a high left leg lift and a proud arm carriage.
- The ifife is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level with a leftward bend, a low raised right arm and a fluid leg lift.
- The eyo is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a passionate left leg lift with a forward bend, a graceful raised left arm and a low body level.
