The Cyclopean Embrace
The Cyclopean Embrace is a solo performance dance originally devised by the night's soldier Ngom Breedhells. The rules of the form are applied by choreographers to produce individual dances which can be performed. The dance is accompanied by The Amethyst of Verse. The dancer performs slower and slower to the music's ushav rhythm. This dance is a refined artform, with eight specific moves to be mastered. The entire dance has a basic movement called the nithros. There is a series of seven energetic steps in a triangle pattern with a jerking sway and a high body level. The aggressive joyous dance is punctuated by elaborate clockwise eighth turns and elaborate footwork.
