The Play of Couples

The Play of Couples is a solo performance dance which grew out of the performances of The Maligned Crowds. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Umber Droplet. The dancer performs along a clockwise circle. This dance is a refined artform, with one special position and one specific move to be mastered. The spirited joyous dance is punctuated by leaps and debauched sway.

• The xenmu the fundamental dance position. There should be a sensual arm carriage with a passionate rightward bend, an energetic hand gesture and a high body level.
• The ogo the fundamental dance move. There is a low left kick with a body level change.
