The Goldenrod Suitor

The Goldenrod Suitor is a war dance originating in The Portals of Strength. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Songs of Cavorting. The dancers perform in several lines, moving to the music's ngarak rhythm. The relaxed dance is punctuated by undulating hand gestures, leaps and clockwise eighth turns.

• The dance begins with the introduction of the music. This section is punctuated by spins.
• The dance enters a new section with the passage of the music. This section is punctuated by sinuous rightward bends, curved walks and twisting left leg lifts.
