The Beloved Wonders
The Beloved Wonders is a sacred group dance originating in The Nations of Competing. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Silks of Phrasing. The dancers perform in a circle, moving slower and slower to the music's tod rhythm. This dance is a refined artform, with five special positions to be mastered. The refined elaborate vigorous dance is punctuated by curved walks.
- The dance begins with the chorus of the music. This sinuous section is punctuated by vivacious independent body movement and loudly percussive runs.
- The dance enters a new section with the verse of the music. This section is punctuated by spirited leaps and straight walks.
- The oth is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a powerful hand gesture performed in succession by group members.
- The ushav is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level.
- The asri is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a right leg lift with a vivacious raised arm, an undulating hand gesture and a leftward bend performed in retrograde by group members.
- The odu is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a leftward bend with a straight-lined hand gesture, a low body level and a straight-lined arm carriage.
- The ijat is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a low body level performed in succession by group members with a raised arm, a right leg lift and a sensual rightward bend.
