The Rhythmic Queen
The Rhythmic Queen is a social group dance originating in The Disloyalty of Crypts. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by The Saffron Song. The dancers perform loosely mingled, moving quickly to the music's urdu rhythm. This dance is a refined artform, with one special position to be mastered.
- The dance begins with the passage of the music. This section is flamboyant and intense.
- The dance enters a new section with the next passages of the music. This joyous section is punctuated by refined runs, sprightly arm carriage and crude leaps, with movement mirrored by group members.
- The bor the fundamental dance position. There should be an expressive arm carriage performed in retrograde by group members with a fluid left leg lift, a grotesque facial expression and a joyous hand gesture.
