The Glosses of Styling
The Glosses of Styling is a solo performance dance originating in The Kingdom of Faith. The form guides dancers during improvised performances. The dance is accompanied by any composition of The Lilac of Song. This dance is a refined artform, with three special positions and one specific move to be mastered. The dance is punctuated by leaps.
- The dance begins with the passage of the music. The dancer performs very quickly with the music. This understated section is punctuated by expressive arm carriage and low spins.
- The dance enters a new section with the next passage of the music. The dancer performs slower and slower with the music. This section is punctuated by large raised left arms.
- The thothil is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be an understated facial expression.
- The ari is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a sinuous leftward bend.
- The umac is one of the fundamental dance positions. There should be a refined hand gesture.
- The ethro the fundamental dance move. There is a counterclockwise eighth quarter turn with a low body level and a raised right arm.
