The Tulip of Poets
The Tulip of Poets is a devotional form of music originally devised by the elf Necalo Springreveres. The form guides musicians during improvised performances. A singer recites The Reason of Glitter. The entire performance is to fade into silence. The melody has phrases of varied length throughout the form. Only one pitch is ever played at a time. It is performed without preference for a scale and in free rhythm. Throughout, when possible, performers are to use mordents and play staccato.
- The singer always does the main melody.
- The Tulip of Poets has a well-defined multi-passage structure: an introduction and a lengthy verse and a lengthy chorus.
- The introduction accelerates as it proceeds. The singer's voice stays in the middle register.
- The verse is half the tempo of the last passage. The singer's voice ranges from the low register to the middle register.
- The chorus resumes the original tempo. The singer's voice ranges from the low register to the middle register.
