The Wonder of Poets

The Wonder of Poets is a form of music used during marches and military engagements originally devised by the goblin Nguslu Muddyhexes. The rules of the form are applied by composers to produce individual pieces of music which can be performed. The music is played on a efiva, a feferi and three thefira. The musical voices are joined in melody. The entire performance should be made expressively, and it is to be loud. The melody has mid-length phrases throughout the form. Pitches are densely packed in clusters as music moves from chord to chord. It is performed without preference for a scale and in free rhythm.

• The feferi always does the main melody and uses mordents. The voice ranges from the raucous low register to the strident middle register.
• Each thefira always does the main melody, glides from note to note and uses mordents.
• The Wonder of Poets has a simple structure: a passage.
• The simple passage is at a walking pace.
