The Lacy Charm is a light poetic form concerning a lover originally devised by the elf Liyiyi Slapseason. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single couplet. Use of ambiguity is characteristic of the form. Every line of the poem has an initial caesura. The ending of each line of the poem shares the same rhyme. The first line is intended to make an assertion. It has three feet with a tone pattern of uneven-even-even. The second line is intended to invert the previous assertion. It has three feet with a tone pattern of even-even-uneven.
