The Insightful Lenses is a poetic form intended to teach a moral lesson concerning inspiration which grew out of the performances of The Curls of Questing. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Use of vivid imagery is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing and they reverse grammatical structures. Each line has three feet with a tone pattern of even-uneven. The second line of the tercet has the same grammatical structure as the first line. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABA.
