The Skull of Ghosts is a solemn poetic form concerning suicide originally devised by the elf Aleya Carminedwell. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into two to three sexains and three tercets. The Skull of Ghosts is always written from the perspective of the author. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often contrast underlying meaning and they have similar grammatical structures. Each line has five syllables.
