The Clam of Splashes is a poetic riddle intended to teach a moral lesson concerning rivers which grew out of the performances of The Barbarous Curses. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is five seventeen-line stanzas. Use of consonance is characteristic of the form. Each line has four syllables.
