The Beige Tome is a poetic form which grew out of the performances of The Euphoric Sinews. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single couplet. Use of simile is characteristic of the form. Each line has seven syllables. The second line of the couplet must expand the idea of the first line. The first line is solemn and intended to describe the past. The second line is light and intended to move away from previous ideas concerning the future.
