The Savant of Insight is a poetic riddle intended to teach a moral lesson concerning scholarship originally devised by the goblin Ngom Malignedlie. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single couplet. Use of consonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines have similar grammatical structures. The first line has fourteen syllables. The second line has nine syllables.
