The Sepia Buck is a poetic riddle intended to praise Romimi Larkearthen originally devised by the elf Epeve Mawflute. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is a series of quatrains. Use of assonance and synchysis is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often contrast underlying meaning, they sometimes have reversed word orders and they reverse grammatical structures. Each line has ten syllables. The fourth line of each quatrain has the same grammatical structure as the third line.
