The Cloudy Buds of Flax is a poetic riddle intended to describe Romimi Larkearthen which grew out of the performances of The Luxurious Clearings. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single quintain. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines use the same placement of allusions. The fourth line of the quintain contrasts the underlying meaning of the third line. The fourth line of the quintain must expand the idea of the third line. The first line has nine syllables. The second line has ten syllables. The third line has nine syllables. The fourth line has eleven syllables. The fifth line has seven syllables.
