The Aquamarine of Wondering
The Aquamarine of Wondering is a light poetic form originally devised by the elf Athe Wineswamps. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is divided into three distinct parts: a tercet, a line and a quintain. Each line has three syllables. Every line of the poem has an initial caesura.
- The first part is intended to describe the past. Certain lines present different views of the same subject. The third line of the tercet reverses the word order of the first line.
- The second part is intended to develop the previous idea concerning current events.
- The third part is intended to move away from previous ideas concerning the future. Certain lines sometimes have reversed word orders. The third line of the quintain presents a different view of the subject of the second line.
