The Scholarly Orbs

The Scholarly Orbs is a poetic riddle concerning someone recently deceased originally devised by the elf Rayali Speakercloudy. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is a single tercet. Use of ambiguity is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing and they sometimes have reversed word orders. Each line has nine syllables. The third line of the tercet has the same grammatical structure as the first line. The first line is intended to make an assertion. The second line is intended to make a counter-assertion. The third line is intended to synthesize previous ideas.
