The Natural Bud

The Natural Bud is a reflective poetic form intended to describe Aye the Furs of Heather, originating in The Jump of Bristling. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is three to five quintains. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines are required to maintain phrasing. Each line has fourteen syllables. The fifth line of each quintain contrasts the underlying meaning of the third line.
