The Bejeweled Gleams

The Bejeweled Gleams is a ribald poetic form concerning immortality, originating in The Maligned Devil. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is divided into three distinct parts: a line, another line and two to three quintains. Each line has three feet with a syllable weight pattern of long-short-short (quantitative dactylic trimeter).

• The first part is intended to describe the subject of the poem.
• The second part is intended to develop the previous idea.
• The third part is intended to move away from previous ideas. The fourth line of each quintain must expand the idea of the third line. The rhyme scheme within each stanza is abcaa.
