The Dust-Death of Burials

The Dust-Death of Burials is a solemn poetic form concerning death, originating in The Ruthlessness of Arenas. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Use of alliteration and assonance is characteristic of the form. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines often share an underlying meaning. Each line has ten syllables. The first line is intended to make an assertion. The second line is intended to make a counter-assertion. The third line is intended to synthesize previous ideas. It must make use of internal rhyme. The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABB.
