The Prim Genius
The Prim Genius is a poetic riddle, originating in The Unbridled Dale. The form guides poets during improvised performances. The poem is divided into three tercets and a line. The Prim Genius is always written from the perspective of an animal. Use of allegory is characteristic of the form. Each line has six syllables.
- The first part is intended to describe the past. Certain lines are required to maintain phrasing, sometimes have reversed word orders and present different views of the same subject. The third line of each tercet must expand the idea of the second line.
- The second part is intended to offer a different perspective concerning current events.
