The Waxy Glens

The Waxy Glens is a poetic riddle concerning the concept of nature, originating in The Admired Storms. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is numerous series of eleven-line stanzas. A form of parallelism is common throughout the poem, in that certain lines sometimes have reversed word orders. Each line has eleven syllables. The third line of each stanza contrasts the underlying meaning of the first line. The tenth line of each stanza is required to maintain the phrasing of the first line. The eighth line of each stanza reverses the grammatical structure of the seventh line.
