The Claw of Persuaders

The Claw of Persuaders is a solemn poetic form concerning war, originating in The Wayward Confederacy. The rules of the form are applied by poets to produce individual poems which can be recited. The poem is a single tercet. Use of assonance is characteristic of the form. Forms of parallelism are common throughout the poem, in that certain lines use the same placement of allusions and they sometimes have reversed word orders. The first line is intended to praise the subject of the poem. It has fourteen syllables. The second line is intended to develop the previous idea. It has ten syllables. The third line is intended to move away from previous ideas. It has nine syllables. The rhyme scheme of the poem is AAB.
